Hours: Monday 1-5 p.m., Wednesday 2 � 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to noon

(Notice: this site accepts household hazardous waste, such as chemicals, pesticides, paint thinners, etc. on the second Saturday of each quarter from 12 noon to 1 p.m. only.  The next collection day in 2010 is Ocober 9.)

Switzerland County residents may drop off their medical waste, such as all unused medicines or used syringes, at the Sheriff's Dept. 
Ohio County residents may take theirs to the Ohio County Health Department.  Controlled medicines (narcotics) are to be taken to the Ohio County Sheriff's Dept.

Household recyclables:

Cardboard (please break down and flatten boxes
Mixed paper, including paperboard
Newspapers and magazines (please separate and keep dry)
Computer paper
#1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs
Glass
Aluminum/steel cans

Cellular phones
TVs (limit 2)

Oil, filters and antifreeze (limit 5 gallons motor oil)

Rules for Recycling

No commercial materials accepted.
Do not leave items after facility has closed
Please remove all lids from containers and rinse thoroughly
No latex-based paints accepted.
No propane or fuel tanks accepted.
Please call ahead with any questions about items not listed
Fees apply to some recyclables.
